Dragonlance Movie Trailer: Rough Cut

The Dragonlance Movie Official Site has released a "rough cut" of the trailer for the upcoming film. Paramount has this to say to the fans: "Dragonlance fans -- We're sorry that it has taken this long to get a trailer out. We had been waiting in hopes that we could show you the final trailer but unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. key talent issues etc) we have not been able to cut the final trailer together and get 100% approval. Ever since we showed this piece at GenCon and DragonCon there has been a huge demand to see the trailer so we figured it'd be best to show you the rough version instead of having everyone wait even longer. Never fear, the Movie Card promotion is still continuing until we run out of cards. But now we have a new promotion to honor the upcoming film, Dragons of Autumn Twilight. Now we will be giving away special 8 1/2" x 11" posters featuring a picture of Tasslehoff Burrfoot with the name ""Jason Marsden" featured along with the Dragonlance logo and the movie title. A limited supply of these posters were autographed by Jason at Gen Con in August. Dragonlance Movie Trailer to Premiere at Gen Con Indy!

Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman are thrilled to announce the world premiere of the trailer for the upcoming film, Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight, at the Gen Con Game Fair in Indianapolis, Indiana. The trailer for the animated fantasy film will be shown on Thursday night at 6:00 PM CDT (final location to be announced) along with footage shot by both Weis and Hickman during their journey alongside the filmmaking process. Margaret Weis Productions, Ltd. will be hosting the authors in booth #2417, along with actor Jason Marsden, who portrays Tasslehoff Burrfoot in the animated film. Weis, Hickman, and Marsden will be signing autographs and answering questions about the movie for the fans — who can also receive special Dragonlance movie collector's cards available only at the convention.

Jamie Chambers joins GAMA Board of Directors

I have accepted an appointment to sit on the Board of Directors as Vice President of the Game Manufacturers Association, often known as GAMA. GAMA is the trade organization that seeks to promote and advance the non-electronic hobby games industry. In addition to its many programs, the organization hosts the GAMA Trade Show and the Origins Games Expo. This is a part-time, volunteer position to help give something back to the game industry that has done so much for me and many others.

Staff Changes at MWP

Margaret Weis Productions, Ltd. bids a fond farewell to Sean Everette (Knightly Orders of Ansalon). Sean is moving his family down to sunny Florida, trading snowstorms for hurricanes! Though we'll miss Sean around the office, he will still be involved in future projects on a freelance basis. We're pleased to announce that two new full-time employees are coming on-board in the next few weeks. Cam Banks (Price of Courage) is joining our ranks as a Managing Editor and game designer. Digger Hayes, who has been involved as a playtester in Sovereign Press and MWP products since 1997, is moving to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to tackle all of our graphic design and layout needs. We also have two summer interns scheduled in the coming months, keeping our offices full and our projects completed faster than ever before.
