EN World has recently posted reviews of two Margaret Weis Productions, Ltd. products. The one of most interest to Dragonlance fans is the review of the original Bestiary of Krynn. Crothian has several good things to say about it and gives the Bestiary four stars. Also reviewed is A Player's Guide to Castlemourn, the introductory book to Ed Greenwood's Castlemourn, a new setting by the creator of the Forgotten Realms published by Margaret Weis Productions, Ltd. We've finally reached our last major convention of the season! Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, and the Sovereign Press staff will be at Dragon*Con. The authors will be on-hand to sign new Dragonlace novels and game products, and Tracy and Laura Hickman will be signing the new Serenity RPG adventure, Out in the Black. Please note that all orders in the Online Store placed after August 22nd will be held and filled once normal business hours resume on September 7th. We hope to see many Dragonlance fans and Browncoats down in Atlanta!

We have a big update this week, right before the staff leaves for the Gen Con Game Fair. Knightly Orders of Ansalon is available and now shipping (previously listed as a pre-order). We now also have Dragons of Autumn -- the update to the classic Dragonlance modules. Another highly-antcipated item, Out in the Black by Dragonlance authors Tracy and Laura Hickman, is available as the first full-length adventure for the Serenity Role Playing Game. A Player's Guide to Castlemourn is new in the store, an introduction to the new campaign setting created by Ed Greenwood. There is also the premiere of Margaret Weis Productions' Paths of Doom series, choice-driven adventure novels for young readers. Sete-Ka's Dream Quest by James M. The staff hits the road yet again, this time off to Indianapolis for the Gen Con Game Fair, the largest games-focused convention in North America. Dragons of Autumn will premiere at the show, along with an almost-as-new Knightly Orders of Ansalon. (There are a bunch of non-Dragonlance products coming out new at the show as well, just look around in the Online Store. Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman will be around to sign books and talk with fans about Dragons of the Dwarven Depths and the upcoming Dragonlance movie. Please note the staff will be gone and not able to check messages until normal hours resume on Wednesday, August 16th. All orders in the Online Store will be held until that day as well.

The Weis & Hickman show on the road stopped at Comic-Con International in San Diego, California. On Sunday we held a panel that covered all things Dragonlance, but was also one of the first public forums to discuss the new Dragonlance Movie, with very special guests Will Meugniot (director) and John Frank Rosenblum on-hand to answer questions for the fans. Jamie Chambers reporting in after the Sovereign Press has returned from Comic-Con. Among the very many exciting things that happened at the show, my favorite was the newest Weis & Hickman novel -- Dragons of the Dwarven Depths -- completely sold out from every vendor who carried it, including Wizards of the Coast and the Margaret Weis Productions booth. Congratulations to Margaret and Tracy for creating another hit that will sure to be a favorite among Dragonlance fans for many years to come.

Several products previously on pre-order status are now actively shipping from the Online Store. Amber & Iron, Volume Two of the Dark Disciple series is now available with signature available from author Margaret Weis. The Serenity Game Master's Screen and the Dragonlance Legends of the Twins sourcebook are now available for immediate shipping. In the "Other Worlds" section, the Dancing Dragons card game created by Margaret Weis and Tom Wham is also now available.

The d20 Magazine Rack has recently posted a review of the PDF version of Legends of the Twins, giving it a solid B grade. "For me though, the alternate histories is what really made the sourcebook as these could be used in a Dragonlance campaign setting, or could be lifted with some changes into another campaign setting." Margaret Weis has announced in this thread that the first chapter of Dragons of the Dwarven Depths, book one of the Lost Chronicles trilogy, will be included as a preview in Amber and Iron.
Tracy Hickman Presents Update

Though there hasn't been any official annnouncement about the upcoming Tracy Hickman Presents series of novels, Margaret Weis has given us a bit of a heads-up on what we should expect. According to Margaret, "They will be set in various time periods, and relate the stories of ordinary people caught up in extraordinary events. Tracy will be working with the authors on the plots. One of the first authors is our own Jamie Chambers!" For more information, check this thread. Congratulations to Jamie, and we're all looking forward to the new series!

Dark Chronicles Changes Name to Lost Chronicles

According to Margaret Weis on this thread, the name of the Dark Chronicles trilogy has been changed to Lost Chronicles. According to Margaret, "The reason is due to the fact that the former turned out to be a registered trademark of another author. Also both Tracy and I agree that Lost Chronicles actually suited the series better!" Margaret mentions how the end of Amber and Iron will contain a startling revalation.
