We also have two issues of the Dragonlance Chronicles comic series from Devil's Due Publishing. Also in this update are the new trade paperback edition of Annotated Legends, Dragonlance Tales: The War of the Lance, Vinas Solamnus -- and all four volumes of the Star of the Guardians series by Margaret Weis. Margaret Weis, Jamie Chambers, and Renae Chambers are leaving for a trip to Italy next week, to attend the Lucca Comics & Games Festival in Lucca, Italy. They will promoting the latest Dragonlance game releases and meeting with European fans. Peter Archer of Wizards of the Coast made the following announcement regarding the remainder of the Dark Disciple trilogy: "Wizards of the Coast has decided that Amber and Iron and Amber and Blood, the next two books in Margaret Weis's Dark Disciple trilogy, will appear first in hardcover and subsequently in mass market paperback editions. Amber and Iron will release in February 2006, as originally announced. I hope all of you will enjoy the next installment in Margaret's exciting saga of Mina, Rhys, and the gods of Krynn."

Chock-full of information about the gods and their relationship to the mortals of Krynn, the sourcebook was written by Sean Everette, Chris Pierson, Cam Banks, and Trampas Whiteman.

We're heading out once again, this time to Atlanta, Georgia for Dragon*Con. Margaret and Tracy will be signing novels and speaking with fans, while Sovereign Press will be selling copies of Holy Orders of the Stars, the newest game resource due out in stores in just a few weeks. All orders received after 12:00 PM CDT on Friday, August 26th will be held and filled once the staff returns to normal office hours on Monday September 12th.

The Sovereign Press staff is hitting the road for the Gen Con Game Fair in Indianapolis next week. This is the largest consumer game-focused convention in North America. Everyone is excited by the premiere of Holy Orders of the Stars and the Serenity Role Playing Game from sister company Margaret Weis Productions. All orders in the Online Store and messages received after 3:30 PM CDT on August 12th will be held until the staff returns to normal office hours on Tuesday, August 23, 2005.

Dark Chronicles Update From Margaret!

Margaret Weis has given us a peak into the contents of Dark Chronicles. "Here's the subjects of the three books: The first book will recount the never-told story of the heroes and the Hammer of Kharas. The second book will look at Winter Night from Kitiara's and Lord Soth's viewpoint. The third book will be the story of Raistlin taking the black robes and working for the Dark Queen in Neraka." Margaret Weis and Sovereign Press at ComiCon

Margaret and the staff are hitting the road once again, this time to ComiCon International in San Diego, California. We'll be selling games (including Spectre of Sorrows, showing off upcoming releases, and previewing the Serenity Roleplaying Game from our sister company, Margaret Weis Productions. We are sharing booth space with artist Larry Elmore, so look for us in Booth #4915. There is a Dragonlance seminar on the schedule for Thursday morning at 10:30 AM, with Margaret, Jamie, Renae (and possibly a surprise guest!) answering questions. All orders in the webstore placed after 12:00 PM CDT on Tuesday will be held until after the show.

Spectre of Sorrows Release Date

Thanks to all of our fans for their patience as Spectre of Sorrows grew from 128 to 192 pages! We are pleased to announce that the product will soon ship from the printer and make its way to our warehouse. Spectre of Sorrows should be in North American stores by Friday, July 22, 2005.

Karen Wynn Fonstad Passes Away

Karen Wynn Fonstad passed away Friday, March 11, 2005, from complications from breast cancer. Dragonlance fans will remember her cartography from such products as Dragonlance Adventures and Tales of the Lance, although she is perhaps best remembered for The Atlas of the Dragonlance World. Karen is also known for other atlases, including ones for the Forgotten Realms, Pern, and Middle-Earth. For more information, please see this article.
